Cauliflower  Manchurian

  • I head of cauliflower

  • I cup Flour

  • Half cup corn starch

  • Ginger garlic paste .4 tablespoons

  • Grated ginger 1 teaspoon optional

  • Vinegar

  • Soya sauce

  • Ketchup

  • Chilli sauce

  • Green pepper

  • Yellow pepper

  • Red pepper

  • Chopped spring onions

  • Roasted sesame seeds

  1. Cut the cauliflower into small florets. In a bowl add the flour, corn starch, vinegar, soya sauce, salt and half the ginger- garlic paste. Mix with water to make it a batter with dripping consistency.

  2. Deep fry the florets .

  3. Chop the green, yellow and red pepper into large cubes. Saute them till crisp and keep aside.

  4. In a pan saute some onions till light brown. Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry or a couple of minutes.

  5. Add 3 tablespoons of sweet sauce, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of ketchup, 1 teaspoon of vinegar and some chili sauce.

  6. At this point you may add extra grated ginger if you like.

  7. Heat all the sauces and make a gravy. Finally add the fried cauliflower florets, the saute colored peppers and toss for a minute .

  8. Add the spring onions and toasted sesame seeds and serve.
